1. Start your pc and insert your Windows cd immediately.

2. Press any key on your keyboard immdiately you see the screen below.

3.If you don't get the above screen on starting your computer, then your computer might not have been set to boot from cd first. What you need to do in this case is to go into your computers Set up and alter the booting sequence to boot from the CD/DVD Rom first. Check the first screen when you start your computer to note the key to press to go into the Set up of your computer.

4. Set up will now automatically inspect your computer's hardware configuration this will take approximately two minutes.

5.The below screen will appear after the hardware inspection is completed.This is the installation welcome screen.

8. Press Enter to begin installing Windows xp.

9.This will prompt the license agreement screen as shown below.Press "F8" key to accept the terms of the agreement to continue.

10.The screen below shows up after agreeing to the licence agreement.This screen show the various partions present on your hard drive.Select the one you want to install the xp on and press the Enter key to continue.

13.Select any of the file systems to format your partition with.For windows xp the NTFS is always recommended. Formating may take a couple of minutes but if you want it to be done quickly then go for the (Quick) option.
