What you need.

(i).A clean copy of a bootable windows vista cd with an installion key (ii)A working pc or a laptop

1. Start your pc and insert your Windows cd immediately.

2. Press any key on your keyboard immdiately you see the screen below.

3.If you don't get the above screen on starting your computer, then your computer might not have been set to boot from cd first. What you need to do in this case is to go into your computers Set up and alter the booting sequence to boot from the CD/DVD Rom first. Check the first screen when you start your computer to note the key to press to go into the Set up of your computer.

4. Set up will now automatically load installation files to the computer's memory. This will take some few minutes.

5. On this screen select your installation language, location and keyboard input format.Click next to continue.

6. Click the "Install now" button to continue the installation process.

7. Specify the product key of your Windows cd, you can check the box below the product key text box to enable automatic activation of your installation.Windows requires you to activate your product within 30 days of installation. Click Next to continue.

8.Read and accept the terms and conditions of the product. Click Next when done to continue.

9. Select the type of installation you prefer on this screen.For a new installation the custom is always recommended.

10. Select which patition of the hard drive you want your operating system to be installed, Windows vista require at least 9GB of free space on a partition for a successfull installation. To format the partition click on "Drive options" and select "Format".Click Next when done to continue.

11.Click next for the installation of vista on your system to begin. For about 15-30mins you are not allowed to do anything, just allow the installation to proceed. Below are screen shots of what you will see during the installation.

After the installation process is finished you will be required to set up your new installation.

12. Input a username and a password, optional password hint, and picture for your first user account.

15. Set the time and date for your location and then click Next.

16. On this screen specify the place where you’ll use your computer the most.

17.Click Start to boot Windows Vista for the first time.

18.Before Windows Vista boots for the first time it must perform a performance check to see what features to turn on or off.

19.Windows vista is now installed on your computer.Enter your password to log into your account.You will only see this if you specified a password during the installation process.
